kids birthdays

Would you be upset if a relative scheduled their vacation and you found out that they would be away for your childs birthday. My nephew will be turning 3 in May and my sil is pissed at me because I am going away on her son's birthday. She thinks I did it intentionally and doesnt realize that it just happens to be when I was able to schedule my trip for.

My brother did this to me, and yes I was annoyed because I went out of my way to attend both of their bridal showers and two other pre wedding events in DC/NY for the two months before. So I felt like if I and my family went to your events you should have come to mine.

If my child was turning one, maybe. But 3? No way; I wouldn't care at all...especially if it were my SIL, but I doubt I'd mind even if it were my sister.

I'm sure you're going to be giving a gift, etc...

I'm curious though, why would she think you did it intentionally? And why would she call you out on it??? Sounds like there's a backstory here!

for 1st birthday I would be annoyed not for others. I would make time before the trip and give him his gift. I don't think she should be annoyed at you. I also feel their is more behind this because it is sorta weird to be that mad about missing a 3rd birthday party. And WOW at planning this birthday so ahead of time.
