Kind of a spinoff...Announcements made ONLY in spanish in toy store..

Kind of a spinoff...

The other day I was in toys r us and they were making an announcement through the speaker system. I almost died when I realized the entire annoucement was in spanish. I was in there for a LONG TIME and its not like they made it in english and spanish. Nope..JUST spanish. And every announcement that they made after that (all different ones) was ONLY in spanish.

I hate to sound horrible here but it really made me angry. I am by NO MEANS racist or biased AT ALL BUT..we are in America!!!! Since when do we only speak spanish??? It really annoyed me AND a bunch of other non speaking spanish customers in the store.

How would you feel?

Sorry, but this, religion and politics I stay AWAY from. Im not touching it with a ten foot pole.

It depends where the store is and the clientele they serve. do you know what they were actually saying? Is it possible that they were searching for a missing child who onlly spoke Spanish?

My father had a business in A predominantly Spanish-speaking part of Brooklyn. His workers spoke Spanish to his customers maybe 75% of the time.

I went to a local Walmart where all of the announcements were only in spanish as well. I agree, I have nothing against spanish AND english, but to assume we all know spanish is strange. I don't know a word of spanish.

IT definately wasnt a missing child. It was like their sale announcements. And being in there for an hour, I am sure if they announced in english too, I would have heard it. I know there is a lot of spanish people in my area, and I know signs and announcements are a lot of times made in both languages, but to ONLY make announcements in spanish seems VERY unfair and it actually made me kind of mad.
