Kind of spin-off to toxicology reports
Why can these reports be released to the media without violating the HIPPA law? I always assumed anything regarding someone's medical history (maybe not history...but any medical reports...information) can't be released without their consent.
But we all know what happens when we assume so I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this.
Thanks!

autopsy results are a matter of public record...and do not follow HIPPA guidelines...for the most part you can get that info on anyone.Usually anything a medical examiner did can be released to the public based on the above.
