Spin-off kind of to spelling things out...
Do you ever find yourself, when talking to people IRL speaking in LIF terms - I can't tell you how many times I almost referred to Brandon as my "DS "outloud !!! Maybe I'm just strange

Yes.....more so in writing, like in e-mails. I love when I have DH read a thread or an FM and he can never remember ANY of the lingo. Also, there is a list serve I am on where SIL can mean son in law. Not many of us here have sons in law, so to me it means sister in law. I followed a long and convoluted story for a long time only to realize I had the people all wrong.
