Kinda freaking out (a little)
Some of you may remember that I found a small lump in my boob a few weeks ago... I really had assumed it was nothing, just pregnancy related, etc.
I had my breast sonogram this morning-- and while they said whatever it is, is *probably* benign, they want to do a biopsy to be sure.
I guess I can take comfort that they told me this, before any conclusive testing-- but, the fact that they want to be sure, scares me. Also, the fact that this is not an enlarged milk duct or whatever also makes me nervous.
I am sure it's all ok-- but, I can't help but worry. Several years ago I also had a bunch of benign polyps in another part of my body-- all benign, but there was recurrent regrowth and was an ordeal to manage. It just makes me nervous again that my body is susceptible to this kind of stuff, especially on the verge of being someone's mom.
I need to wait to get approval from my OB to get the biopsy done, then call and make another freakin' appt-- I just hope I don't have to wait long to confirm all my results.

Re: Kinda freaking out (a little)
I'm sure they want to be safe. I had a small mole removed from my skin a few years back and freaked out bc they wanted to do the biopsy right then and there, but they really want to just be safe!!!
GL!!! Keep us posted!!!

i'm sure all will be okay, especially since you have a history of benign polyps.

Hope all goes well. Keep us posted...
When my sister was pregnant, she went through something similar. FM her (Nancy6485) and maybe she can give you some advice, lend a listening ear.

Re: Kinda freaking out (a little)
Randi I also have benign lumps (11 of them) and they tend to grow during PG, just as my moles and skin tags grow when I am PG. None of them can morph, so the Dr is not worried about the existing ones becoming problematic, other than it did affect my ability to BF fully with DS.
Since the anesthesia for a regular biopsy is a local, and they can generally locate them by sono (depending on their composition, of course), you should be OK to get it done while PG. As a matter of fact, they wanted to remove my calcifications during my second tri, but I decided to wait until after PG. I am very high risk as I have a one generation separation from 3 cases of BC, so we are talking possibly a more radical preventative treatment for me anyway.
Anyway I got off on a tangent, but feel free to FM.
