Kindergarten - Holy Family Regional Commack
Has anyone sent their child here for kindergarten?
My school district only has 1/2 day kindergarten and I'm researching full day kindergartens and they are one of them.
The other option is to send my DD to our school district and send her to a before care and aftercare program. I just don't know what to do.

Commack has full day kindergarten, doesn't it?
I'm in the next district over and am jealous!
If you want to FM me the district you're in, I've had experinece with both the before & after school program at the public school & the full-day kindergartens around that area.

I used them for K, 6 years ago. I'm in Smithtown, and we didn't go full day until the following year. In my experience it was ok. I never had any intention of keeping my daughter there and only did it for the full day. I have also recently heard that they are in serious financial trouble and might not be open 2-3 years from now.
However, my first choice would have been an enrichment program that bussed but, I couldn't find one. I know most people in KP and Ft. Salonga, send their kids to New Discovery because they will bus within the KP school district. The advantage is they will be with children from the district and if there are any issues the district will identify them earlier. My sister, along with many of her neighbor's, has done this and were very happy with the program at New Discovery.

New Discovery is my other option. I'm only concerned because when I called the woman made it seem like it's tough to get in. I'm sure whatever we decide will be the right choice.
I'm just in a bind because I have to decide this month.

You can also find out if they have been written up.
