Kindergarten Open House Orientation
What was it like for your child's school? How was the setup? Do all parents meet in the gym? Just curious. Thanks.

Kindergarten Open House Orientation
We have a few at school. One night is just parents only. During the day there is one for the kids. They get to ride on a bus, visit the classroom, receive a book and the parents stay in the cafeteria. We also have a kindergarten playdate the week before school starts for kids and parents on the playground at school.

Kindergarten Open House Orientation
At ours you go directly to the childs classroom and sit in his/her seat. The teacher speaks and goes over the curriculum, homework policies, absences, discipline, etc. You get to look through the classroom at different artworks they made, etc.

Kindergarten Open House Orientation
We had 2.
The first was with us in the cafeteria and the kids taken to rooms to do crafts and whatnot. One of the K teachers went over the curriculum and showed us some of the things her current K class was working on. Also, she introduced us to the other k teachers, nurse, social worker, school psychologist, occupational therapist, etc.
The 2nd one was just for the kids. We dropped them off for an hour or so at the school.
Ours occurred in the Spring before they entered K, so we didn't see their classroom or anything.
