Re: Kindergarten parties
We have 2 parties on Sat. What's the average everyone is spending? I have a friend that sells Croc bags and I've been giving those with a jibbit at 25 each. This is getting expensive!

Re: Kindergarten parties
Up to $20. I'll go a little higher for kids/parents that I know outside of Kindergarten.

Re: Kindergarten parties
I agree!!!!! I gave 20 to the first two parties and 25 to the last since she is very good friends with this classmate and I am friends with her mom. We have the same situation for the next party. During black friday I am going to try and stock up on game/toy deals so that this doesnt happen to me all yr long. I think 20 is the maximum that people are giving. Gillians party is in a week so I can give a more detailed answer when I see what is given.

Re: Kindergarten parties
We just did my daughters party and she got mostly barbie playsets, craft kits and some princess barbie type dolls from disney store etc. Most ppl probably spent around $25 - def not more, but some less.
I would say do what you're thinking- try to get things worth $20, but on sale. Honestly there is always one person that I'm amazed what they give - obvious re-gifts or a $5 target thing. It doesnt have to be expensive to be decent. I really dont know what some parents are thinking.

Re: Kindergarten parties
I buy stuff at 75% off on clearance and stock up the gift closet. I give a gift equal to $20-25, but it doesn't cost me that much.

Re: Kindergarten parties
we aren't in kindergarten yet, but invited to their parties through sports and older playgroups. I hit 10.00. I can't do more. I feel like I am at a party all the time-during the week with my younger one and weekends with older.
So yes, mine might be "cheap" I just really don't care anymore. I started off hitting 20-25...now 4 years later-over it.
I just scored a bunch of snapfish coupons...I made 8x10 puzzles of the kids' faces-cost me 6 with shipping.
How much more can these kids need? For 10.00 I get tshirts and monogram them.
but 20-25...i step back and i don't care what parent thinks i am cheap. i am! be cheap with my kids too-we won't care at all
