Kindergarten teachers... "Sight words"?
Can anyone tell me what the sight words are? I found several sources on-line, but is there a "standard" list?

The first 100 words are standard for kindergarten-----a, like, look---and so forth....you should be able to find it online.

In our district the first 20 are required for Kindergarten, and the first 100 are for first grade.

Fountas and Pinnell have a list and there is also the Dolch list. These might help.

The Dolch list is the one I use in my school. They are basically the same lists.

Thanks ladies. I found Dolch but read that some of the words were "outdated". I'll look up the other one as well. DS wants index cards so he can "pwactice".
