Kindle Fire or Other Tablet??
I would really like to get a device that plays movies & TV Shows. I also want to download books and other apps.
Not looking for something crazy expensive and I don't want to spend more than $300.
Wi-Fi is all I need too.
Would really like advice on why the Kindle Fire is or isn't better than a Tablet?
What tablet would you suggest?

I have the Kindle Fire and couldn't be happier with it. It has very fast internet, access to movies/ Tv shows ( definitely sign up for Amazon prime) and lots of fun apps. $200 for the whole thing too !

If you get a typical android tablet, you can have everything at your finger tips. Alot of powerful units out there new and used for 300 and less.
Fire you will be limited to mostly amazon app store, products designed for the fire where as the Fire is a specialized android tablet. You can download kindle for android or ipad and its the same experience.
I have a Asus Transfomer running 4.0 while DW has a Motorolla Zoom running 4.0.

I love my kindle fire, but only issue is I cannot use it outside in the sunlight...so I can't bring it to the beach or anything to read/

I adjusted the brightness on mine and its so much better (highest)...lower it when Im indoors(lowest)..

We have the Samsung Galaxy Tab and I absolutely love it. They just came out with a new 7.9 inch with the ice cream sandwich processor for $250 at Best Buy. Totally worth it IMO and you can download all the e-reader apps so you read too.

I really love my kindle fire, but wish I could get the same apps that I have on my ipod touch. The kindle apps are good, but not great!
