Kindle Question
Ok. so I have a Kindle question and could use your advise.
Long story short, my manager found out she has bladder cancer and she's having her bladder removed next month. She's going to be out a month or longer. A bunch of us were thinking of chipping in $10 to get her a Barnes and Noble GC and it would total $50
I realized that there are a lot of sales pple in the company that she works with on their commisions and other stuff that I know love her and would totally chip in for something. I figured we'd do a Kindle and a GC for her to buy books, mags, etc.
What GC do we have to get to get the books? Is it Amazon. I wasn't sure if B&N is associated with the Kindle.
Thanks Ladies!

Re: Kindle Question
Nook. No giftcard necessary as you can download books free from the library.

It sounds like she might have a tough time getting to the library. All the reviews I've read say the Kindle is better though I suppose they're similar regardless.
You can buy the Kindle directly at Target too, they're the only retailer that sells them aside from Amazon.

You don't need to go to the library. You do it online from your computer. That's the beauty of it! No going to the library. No returns (it gets removed automatically after the rental time), no fee. And it's free! As many books as you want. You can rent as many as 5 books in Nassau.
Get the Nook!!!! I have only bought 2 books so far. The rest (all bestsellers) were from the library!
I am surprised at the "negative" reviews you are getting on the Nook. The Nook has better reviews than the Kindle or is similar. Except the big plus is the rental ability from the library (which again you do from home)! The kindle is not compatible with the library program.

Re: Kindle Question
kindle has great reviews but you cant take out library books, their software doesn't support it. you can download something that overwrites the program blocking you from taking out library books but it voids the warranty. for that reason alone I would do the nook. but there are other ones too.
But don't buy her either if she has an ipod touch 2nd or 3rd generation, or an ipad or iphone because she can get the ibooks app for free and have everything in one device. then just do itunes gc
edited because I can't spell

Best Buy just started carrying the Kindle too, so you can go in person & compare the Kindle, Nook & Sony E-Reader.
You can use BN gift cards to download books for the Nook.
