Kitchen Contractor rec
is it normal for contractors to not call/text you back?? i thought i had one i was going to use...he gave me his estimate and now that i have the actual design he was going to come give me the actual cost. but i haven't heard from him. i have the cabinets ready to be ordered and just need the damn contractor! does anyone have one they LOVE and actually returns their messages? lol i live in wantagh. TIA!

i don't have someone for you, but what you're describing is perfectly normal for contractors.
is it acceptable really? no.
it could be a number of reasons. he could be on vacation, he could be busy on another job and not returning calls. he could have an issue with your job. It could be any number of reasonable or unreasonable things.

It's very typical for contractors not to call you back. Then sometimes they'll magically pop back up a few weeks later - when they have a lull in their work. Personally, if a contractor won't call me back, I won't use them because I'd be worried they aren't reliable.

i feel like this too but then i feel like they're all like this. so then ill never find a contractor lol

We used Mike Graziano at Aladdin (Massapequa Park) for our kitchen remodel and he was always very responsive and did a great job. We have another contractor we have used for smaller jobs and he does great work but he was bad at returning calls and sticking to the timelines he had set and wasn't always reliable so we were afraid to use him for something as big as a kitchen.

its a plus that he wrote me back immediately lol i told him i appreciate his honesty. he said hes still interested in the job so i told him ill let him know if i dont find anyone else.

Kitchen Contractor rec
We worked directly with Lowes and their contractor. We were very happy with them, but if you are all set with the cabinets, it doesn't make as much sense.
