It’s OK here. The death numbers are somewhat skewed here, I believe. For some reason they aren’t testing the dead for COVID here. That’s why the death numbers are much lower than Italy, for example.
I just stay inside and do my part. I miss my family and I hate that I don’t know when I can fly home to see them. I keep myself busy with Zoom chats and phone calls.

The death rates aren’t 100% here too. Some say it’s skewed the other way. From medical professionals I know in hospitals. If someone was dying of something else and contracted covid, it’s being categorized as a covid death with underlying issue. I feel like it’s all so new, nobody has it right.

Someone shared with me that Germany is lower because they are on top of it more so than we are like if someone is sick, they send a car service, pick them up to go for testing. Like they are not waiting until a person is having trouble breathing before testing.
Is that true?

I have heard that. They are definitely on top of it. I guess we will see.
It is really strange. I’m just staying inside. But, yes, they are waiting on testing.
It’s ******* frustrating. No one wants to inundate the hospitals. So we are just waiting inside.

I do have a question for you.
I know you follow what is going on here and you have family here so you know about the stimulus payments that are going out to us soon.
Is your government doing anything like that?
To help boost the economy. I haven't heard anything about it.

To help boost the economy. I haven't heard anything about it.
Good question. They are offering paperwork and making unemployment 2 easier to fill out. We have two different unemployment types. Unemployment 1 is for those that have had a contract job and you have paid into the system. You get more money with that. Unemployment 2 is like welfare and they watch all your assets very carefully. You don’t get as much money from that and the constant surveillance is annoying. I’m not ashamed to admit it, but I have been on both because I am freelance, which is a whole other mess in this country. So unemployment 2 papers are easier to fill out and they aren’t watching assets so closely and you can get money from that more easily.
I am eligible for the stimulus package in the US.
They have a stimulus package here for freelancers/small business and you would get about ~$10,000. That is for right now. They have also made it impossible for landlords to evict anyone until at least September.
All these programs are for just now. I’m sure there will be more. They have to do something about the health care. For healthcare you have to pay about 170 Euros per month if you are working or not as a freelancer. If you aren’t a freelancer than your job covers that. So people are going to be behind on their healthcare soon. The good thing if you don’t pay, they don’t cancel your health insurance, so you can still get ER care, etc.
