Knee pain during step aerobics?
I noticed the past couple of weeks in step class that my knees hurt. A few years ago right before my wedding I was in great shape and the step goddess. I had no knee pain. I know it was a few years ago, but I'm only 28, lol. What could it be? Maybe my sneakers? Any suggestions?

Could be your sneakers. Could be the surface that you are on is too hard or you might be stepping on the step with too much force.

Re: Knee pain during step aerobics?
As a former step instructor, I can say that step is the most KILLER on your knees. I stopped teaching it (and taking it) years ago for that reason....
ETA - any small change in your form goes directly to your knees - if you lean forward too much, or you are tired and get a bit sloppy, or even when you land suddenly and constantly jar your knee - all those things add up to knee injury.

Also how many risers are you using on each side and is the class incorporating any type of plyometrics?
