Knee Problems?
I've had a shapr burning pain in my knee everytime i kneel down and i want to go to the doctor to have it looked at, my question is do i go to my primary care doctor or an orthopedic doctor? I don't have a primary dctor but my DH does so i can call them, but i don't need a referral for my insurance so should i just call an orthopedic doctor?

Re: Knee Problems?
I would go to your dh's primary dr and have them look at it and let them tell you to go to a orthopedic Dr.

Re: Knee Problems?
I'd just call the specialist, since you don't need an insurance referral. All the primary will do is probably send you for a possible xray and tell you to go to a specialist anyway. But that's just my opinion.

Re: Knee Problems?
Depends on your insurance and if you need a referal or not. If you do, go to the GP 1st, if not, Go straight to the ortho. FEEL better

Re: Knee Problems?
i'd find an orthopedist. the primary care dr. may be able to xray it in his office, but this is something that probably requires special care. and if you dont need a referall, i usually just go right to the specialist.
good luck!

Re: Knee Problems?
if you don't need a referral it would be a waste of a copay to see your GP. just cal them and see if they can recommend an orthopedist.
