Knights of Columbus/VFW Hall - 1st birthday ideas for July/August babies

Seamus will be 1 in July
Since it will be hot, I want to have his birthday indoors

Im in Bayshore, what VFW and Knights of Columbus halls are nice around here? Do you have to be a member to rent? MY FIL is a Vet and DH thinks he is a Knight as well

I was thinking it might be the best place
We are looking at about 80 people or so

I was thinking of getting the big sandwich and trays of hot food. Then just some chips and cheese and crackers, etc as apps

YOu can bring your own alcohol in, right?

I was also thinking of brining an ipod full of music to play and I want to hire some sort of entertainment for the kids

Any other ideas that July/August mommies have for 1st bdays?

for DS' 1st B-day we had it at a Firemans benelovant hall but its located in East Meadow... for entertainment we had a dj and a bounce house for the outside, mickey mouse and a cotton candy machine... we used

animations-supertunes

they were great i definately reccommend them and i will use them for when my DD turns one

I just had my daughter's first birthday party at Super Grand Buffet in Baldwin. Very inexpensive. They have a private party room the food is great I had a magican and a face painter there. We had 48 adults and 13 children. If you want more info FM.

I just went with my SIL to a KofC for a sweet 16. We were told that we can't bring in our own alcohol. They have a bar, and you can pay for that. It was quite expensive and my SIL wound up booking a fire house through a friend.

I am having my DD's 1st birthday at a KOC hall but out east. They will not allow us to bring in our own alcohol, only soda, water, juice, etc. They do have the bar if you wanted to pay per head. I think the $$ is worth it for the size. GL!

The K of C in Massapequa Park allows you to bring yor own alcohol....you can try them!

I just went to a Christening at the Hibernian Hall in babylon village. it was nice.
