Knit stretch maternity shirts

Does anyone else buy these shirts a little larger than they have to wear? I find that I fit in a medium fine, it's just snug I guess how it's suppose to be, but when I put on a large it's so much more comfortable and you don't see every line and roll. Do you think these type of shirts will look bad if it doesn't completely stick to you? Thanks!

Re: Knit stretch maternity shirts

When I was pregnant I liked everything to fit to my body because I wanted to show off my belly. I never wore anything that looked like a tent because I felt bigger than what I was. I think pregnant women are beautiful and should show it off.

Re: Knit stretch maternity shirts

I have been buying stuff bigger because I will get more use out of it, because Im still growing.
I went from a med. to a large now in a matter of weeks, so I am buying bigger stuff.

Im still waiting for my friend to give me her clothesChat Icon

Also......I have to go with a larger size becasue my BOOBs are too big and the shirts are tight on the top.

Re: Knit stretch maternity shirts

Well, the large isn't a tent, but it's not completely skin tight, either, but I have never been comfortable with anything skin tight. The medium is, which shows everything. Lines from my bra, pants, every roll I have now. I don't know it just doesn't look good. Chat Icon I unfortunately have gained weight in other places other than my belly and it shows a lot with skin tight clothes. Well, the knit one's anyway. I really think I'm in between medium and a large, so I guess I'm out of luck either way! Chat Icon

I also figure that I'm only 22 weeks so I'm definitely going to get bigger yet and in case the clothes shrink a bit.

Re: Knit stretch maternity shirts

I always tended to buy things a little bit bigger for the same reason. I don't like to see every roll, etc. It usually depends on the fit of the shirt itself, but I'd say about 1/2 of them I'd go up a size and I ended up appreciating it towards the end b/c I got so big a lot of the med shirts didn't fit anymore in the last trimester Chat Icon

I am pretty proud of my belly, but like you I thought there were other areas that looked better in a shirt that didn't hug every curve. For ex, I thought my upper arms got a little chubby and I didn't like how that looked in some med shirts.
