Know what we did tonight?
We read together, and for the 1st time, he really got into it.
I read Brown Bear and my personal favorite - where the Wild Things Are.
He looked at the pages with these wide eyes, and looked at me while I read. It BLEW my mind. Its almost like he knew what books were...
He really "got" it - I'm amazed. I was reading at 2 yrs old (none of my parents ever read books to me - so I had to do it on my own because I had a love of it from the start)
I cried while reading Where the Wild Things Are (I'm such a sap) - it was always my dream to share reading with my child. And the fact that he loved it melted my heart into goo.
And that book has always been my favorite.
I love being a mom.

I love reading to DD. I know right now she doesn't really know what she's seeing/hearing but eventually she will! Enjoy every minute of it!

Awww that is so cute! Yes, it's so great when they finally *get* reading! My DD also loves Brown Bear, she has been fascinated with that book for a while now.
The best is when they get a little older, and they bring you a book for you to read to them. Even when I'm in the middle of something else, I can't help but stop if she brings me a book to read! It is so great to see them want to learn.

My dd always smiles so big as I read to her before sleep. I often wonder if she realises that just a couple minutes later I will be putting her down to sleep, that smile wouldnt be there if she did!
