Kohl's Credit Card.. good coupons/discounts/incentives?
DH and I spend sooo much money at Kohl's. Work clothes, shoes, bras, etc.
We are debating whether or not to get their credit card. We are kind of anti-too many cards, and only get one when it's REALLY worth it.
Does Kohls send coupons to its credit card holders? What kind of perks do credit card customers get? I always see people with coupons in line and I am dying to know how much they are for.

They send a coupon out every month for, I think, 15% off your total purchase. It's good for about a week which is nice.

yes they send lots of coupons. most are scratch off, and give you 15% 20% or 30% off.
My grandma has a theory that the more you shop there the lower your % is on the coupons. My mom used to shop there a lot and always got 15% coupons. Then she stopped shopping there as much and lately she got 30%. My grandma shops there a lot and has been getting 15% but she used to get 30% when she didn't go often.
You also earn bonus bucks too I think, like spend XXX and get gift cards back.
It sounds like it's worth it even if you dont use it that often, maybe even especially so.

I just went yesterday with a 30% off coupon!
I love their credit card!
ETA: I got 2 dressy dresses and Scene It (DVD Movie Game) for $45!

agreed - SO worth it! Got a 30% off coupon last week - it stinks b/c there aren't any Kohls near me yet - I miss it - but I can still use those coupons online!

agreed!
my mom is always getting stuff from them for having the card - one time, i was with her and we saved tons at the checkout b/c she had a card! it was like 20% plus $ off certain items - i ended up getting three pairs of shoes for like 35 dollars haha!

I only have a basic Visa and Mastercard b/c I recall my (sometimes paranoid) mother once telling me that the more cc's you have, the lower your credit score? Any truth?

Yes, it's the same as any other credit card. There is a certain point, that when you have too many, it negatively effects your credit. That's why I'm being so picky about it

the finance charges on store cards are usually higher, so if you are someone who doesn't pay your bill in full each month, you are probably better off sticking with your major CCs.

I have had a Kohls card as long as I can remember - and I usually pay it in Full every time.
And I have other credit cards too - and I don't pay in full on them - and I have great credit.
I don't think it is the amount of cc's you have - it is how you pay them.

IMO--For their store in particular it is worth it to get the card. They send out coupons all of the time.

It's so easy to pay the Kohls card too - you can pay it right at any register, online, or mail the check.
