Kotobuki in Roslyn-update=)
I'm going there for the first time next week and am looking for some delicious recommendations.
I am not much of a sushi fan (nothing raw and I'm allergic to crab/shellfish) but I may love the vegetable roll. Anything else that you love from there?

Re: Kotobuki in Roslyn
Kotobuki is one of my favorite places to go but I must be a buzz kill here. I dont think they're the best on cooked food. The cooked food that I would recommend (Shrimp Go-Go, fried oysters, spider roll) are on your list of no-nos.
So if I had to order, I would start with edamame, pan friend gyoza and have the Kotobuki Steak, med-rare.
This being said, you will be hard pressed to find better sushi and sashimi so I will urge you to at least try a rainbow roll.
Enjoy and at least have some cold sake for me!

Re: Kotobuki in Roslyn
I'm going with a group of friends who love sushi and I figured I could find something I like. Maybe tempura, teriyaki, etc.

Thank you for the ideas! I do like all the things you mentioned! I just don't think I can do the raw fish! But maybe after the saki lol!

Never been there but most places have sliced beef wrapped around scallions - that's really good. Forget what its called.

Negimaki?
To the OP:
I was in the same boat you are in a few years ago when I went to Kotobuki with some sushi-eating friends. They urged me to try some of theirs and I never looked back. Now I eat almost anything!
If you like cream cheese & lox, I recommend the Philadelphia Roll. Believe it or not, eel is delicious. I fell in love with eel at Kotobuki. The Out of Control Roll is really good too.

You dont "think" you can do raw fish? Pretend it's cooked Trust me, it's nothing like you THINK it is (I promise).
Start off tame with a rainbow roll. That's how it all began for me! Have a spicy tuna roll. Try eel (I actually dont care for it but I think it is more the sauce that I dont like (and eel is cooked btw)).
Try it...you'll like it
And now I'm craving Kotobuki
Their tempura is ok. I dont care for the negimaki

Re: Kotobuki in Roslyn
Beef negamaki or shrimp tempura roll. The sushi there is the best but I usually eat the raw sushi

Re: Kotobuki in Roslyn
OK so I went and we had:
K mac sliders- yummy
edamame
green salad with ginger dressing (YUM)
philadelphia roll
veggie roll
chicken tempura roll (loved it)
They had a few other things but just couldn't do it lol. Overall a very yummy, filling meal but I felt good afterwards, not heavy at all. I'd love to go back!
