Re: *Buying for the little beans...*

I personally wouldn't buy ANYTHING until after your shower. People may surprise you. If you are worried about the finances, why not pick up gift cards now to be used later on after the shower?

while we aren't nearly as far along as you are, we have been using the theory of, 'if we can get it on sale, or for a great price & we have extra cash, GET IT'.....

i hope this helps in SOME way... Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: *Buying for the little beans...*

I am not having a shower, and most of my gifts will come in once the baby is born.

That said, we are telling people close to us what we need before baby's arrival-- since we can count on them getting us specifically what we need, and we can set it up before the craziness ensues, etc.

My other plan is to buy other stuff we may want, utilizing all the BuyBuyBaby and Bed, Bath & Beyond coupons I can get my hands on. We'll probably give some to our families- so they can save on these items as well.. but, I don't want to wait a little closer and miss out on getting 20% off. All of my coupons so far expire the end of Dec, and I am due the end of January. I will be shopping a lot in the coming month!!

that's EXACTLY what i was talking about. I LOVE marshalls, tj maxx, etc... and when the put stuff on clearance, i'm THERE! We've gotten a TON of outfits there - mostly neutral...but for like $2.99 for a Yankee set...how can we pass that up? Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: *Buying for the little beans...*

Wait until closer to your due date to buy things, BRU has a 90 day return policy and if you get duplicates, you can return the ones you bought.

I mostly got things from my registry at my shower and really not very many clothes at all. I did get a lot of clothes after the baby was born, but I was glad I bought the few things I got myself before the baby was born, because no one bought that stuff for me.
