Labor playlist...
Are you making one? If so, what songs are on it? I've been meaning to do this and this week's Chuck made me remember!

Re: Labor playlist...
I'm thinking of it. I don't know if the room has a cd player though. I was debating bringing my mp3 player though.

Re: Labor playlist...
We have one of those awesome rechargeable Bose sound docks -- that can play without being plugged in for up to 3 hours. I think we'll bring it along and put a range of music.
I'm sure my playlist would include a range of AC/DC and Metallica to Michael Buble and Josh Groban.

Re: Labor playlist...
I plan to make one on my ipod...I guess I have to find out if they have a dock, or if I need to bring one. I haven't really thought of specific songs, but I think I want energetic songs to pump me up for all the pushing

Re: Labor playlist...
I had my ipod with me and I had put a bunch of songs on it figuring I could listen to it to get my mind off things during labor... but it didn't really happen that way. We got to the hospital at 9:30 pm and I was 9 cm by 10:30 pm and the doctor broke my water and it was time to push at 11:30 pm... All I was doing was trying to grit my teeth and push through everything.
I imagine if you're planning on an epidural, you'll have more time to chill out and listen to music, though.
I downloaded a few songs I like from the radio, including Chris Brown's Forever, Flo Rida's Club Can't Handle Me (I don't know why, but I love that song), and Owl City's Fireflies.
Oh, and of course, I had all my Rob Thomas, mb20, Train, and Lifehouse songs on hand in my ipod. Can't get enough of any of that. I just wanted songs that I enjoyed so if I could possibly distract myself from the pain, I could get caught up in the music. There just wasn't time for me.

This thread reminds me of the "Period Mixed CD" that Ashton Kutcher's character made in No Strings Attached .

Re: Labor playlist...
Sorry to crash... but this sort of reminds me of when I had cavities filled without Novocaine and I listened to my portable cd player in the dentist chair.
To this day, I can't listen to the Cranberries without getting a pain in the side of my mouth! Associations are STRONG .. so I wouldn't bring any music you feel too strongly about. You might not like it after!

Rocky - Eye of the Tiger!
I'm half kidding! Most probably Enya, Bob Marley, James Taylor, realxing type stuff. Then maybe some faster stuff when it gets intense.
