Ladies I need some help. Rec needed for Breast Specialist
A little background. I have 2 masses that are not cancerous. One in each breast. We found them at my Mammo in March, and I was to have them removed as a precaution in June. At the pre-op appointment I found out I am PG, so we did not do the lumpectomy. My Breast surgeon recommended that I come back in my 2nd tri to have them removed, but I and my OB/GYN do not see why I need to go while PG. After a discussion last night with my OB/GYN, we decided I should get a second opinion from a Breast Specialist that is NOT primarily a surgeon to see if there is any outstanding medical reason to have a surgery while PG.
So, does anyone have a recommendation for a specialist who is not primarily a surgeon?
Thanks!

I know Dr. Karen Kostroff has an excellent reputation - she is chief of breast surgery at NSUH/LIJ. I saw her a while back when I was considering removing a painful fibroidadenoma. She came very highly recommended by a couple of drs in the field. Etd to add I'm closely followed b/c my mom had breast cancer at 31.

Dr. Anne Moore at Cornell. She specializes in people with breast issues (cancer or otherwise) and pregnancy.

My RE at Cornell recommended her to me since I had an issue and want to become pregnant.
You can google her. She's a Medical Oncologist, not a surgeon specializing in the breast.
Good luck and I hope it all works out.

Good luck at your appointment

Dr. Dana Monaco in Rockville Centre. Her office is in the Ryan Building next to Mercy Hospital. She's amazing. Saved my mom's life and she did my lumptectomy.
