Ladies please help- maternity clothes
Im SCREWED!! I go back to work in 3 wks and have NOTHING TO WEAR. Im a teacher so all summe ri wore tank tops and strapless dresses, clearly not appropriate for school.
I was on Old NAvy.com and Gap. com last nite and i didnt find anything i liked. Not to mention Gap was alittle $$$.
Where do you get your maternity clothes??? I have no idea how im gonna dress myself 5 days a week in DIFFERENT things

Re: Ladies please help- maternity clothes
i purchased very few maternity tops. i lived in maternity pants from motherhood maternity (the dress pants fit me really well since i am not too tall) and then i just went to my regular stores (macy's, NY and Co.) and bought shirts one size up. that way i also had something to wear after the baby was born!

Re: Ladies please help- maternity clothes
destination maternity has work appropriate tops that you can wear to work at reasonable prices ... click You can prob even do the sleeveless ones with a cardigan.

Re: Ladies please help- maternity clothes
I've found it easier to wear dresses (the girl who sits next to me at work gave me that tip and I love her for it).
Motherhood has some cute reasonably priced dresses that are comfy.
ETA - I bought pants as well from Motherhood but, they keep on falling down on me - and the tops I bought in the beginning are no longer comfy.

Re: Ladies please help- maternity clothes
I am sure you can find some summery items on clearance at either Kohl's or Motherhood. Since you are pregnant & going back to work, I would be dressing with as light of clothes as you can especially if we get exceptionally warm days....I got some cute dressed at Motherhood for under $20

i did well at old navy for jeans, capris and summery tops.
gap is over priced on maternity wear and half the stuff i cant even get in a normal size.

Re: Ladies please help- maternity clothes
go try stuff on. Online shopping can be confusing. and don't go crazy buying a lot. you only need clothes for 2 months or so. If you find a shirt that you like, but it in every color. solid prints work best. I was able to find some cute things at kohl's, target, motherhood and h&m.

Re: Ladies please help- maternity clothes
I found a bunch of cute tops and bermuda shorts from Kohl's. What about skirts? They are very comfy in this weather. Try Motherhood Maternity or Destination Maternity.

Re: Ladies please help- maternity clothes
I have a few non-maternity dresses that I bought at Loehmanns and love. They are the most comfortable for work. As for pants, I bought mine at the Gap. For shirts, I am still in mostly non-maternity ones (but empire-waisted or flowy shirts), but have bought a few from H&M and Motherhood (though I am not a fan of the quality at Motherhood).
I was in JC Penney last weekend and they had a ton of maternity dress pants on sale for $19.99. Unfortunately, they just didn't fit me right.

Re: Ladies please help- maternity clothes
I'm in the same boat. I'll be 36 weeks when school starts up again on Sept. 8th-- and because it stayed cool up until the end of June, I never really bought any work appropriate attire. I found a cute maternity dress that I plan on wearing for the first day of classes. From then on I plan on wearing black gaucho capris and tops with the only shoes that seem to work for me-- flip flops. I also have a few dresses that I can mix in, but honestly, I am done buying maternity clothes. I hate spending $$ on them when all I really want to do is return to my pre-pregnancy wardrobe. So I'll just make it work. There are sales to find at Destination Maternity, and I was at Macy's in Manhasset this past week and found they had quite a bit on sale, as well.

Re: Ladies please help- maternity clothes
I am in the same situation starting school. I am not ready for maternity clothes but none of my old pants fit. I am going to try the bella band for now and then once it cools down (which is late October here in Northern VA) I will buy some maternity clothes. Did you try going into the gap all their summer stuff that was on sale was an additional 40% off. Are you looking for fall stuff or summer stuff to start back at school?

Re: Ladies please help- maternity clothes
Yeah - I'm not really in maternity yet but starting to realize that my reg clothes aren't really cutting it anymore!
Can you wear any of the tank or strapless dresses with a cardigan over? I have a few summery dresses that I am going to do this with - or put a t-shirt underneath.

Re: Ladies please help- maternity clothes
Last year a found a couple of cute pairs of slacks with a really comfy elastic/stocking waist at motherhood and destination maternity (cheap too). I literally bought 3 pairs and wore the same ones over and over all week long. YOu can even find them in capris. Then I would pair comfy tanks with little cardigains over them to dress them up a little. Try old navy online too

Re: Ladies please help- maternity clothes
All the Old Navy's carry different stuff, or different amounts of maternity clothes. though I scored two pairs of jeans for $4 each and a shirt for $5, total would have been over $70!!! Totally worth a look. Khols has a decent amount too!

Re: Ladies please help- maternity clothes
I'm stressing over going back to work too. I need summer clothes for Sept and Oct but I don't want to get too much in case it gets cold.
I went to Baby Gap in Roosevelt Field and they had some nice capri's for work. They were originally around 50 or 60 and they were on sale for 15.99 and then 40% off so I got them for 10 bucks each! I got one black and one beige. I'll just pair them with different shirts. Plus I have some cotton dresses I can still wear.

Re: Ladies please help- maternity clothes
Try Maternity Works outlet at Riverhead Tanger! There are coupons! Also, Motherhood online and Old Navy online...JC Penney has 75% off sales yesterday and don't rule out Craig's List...sometimes people sell their gently used maternity clothes as a set by season!

Re: Ladies please help- maternity clothes
I did great in the store at GAP -all sale items - a skirt for $4, capris for $8 - its the luck of the draw, but worth a try if you know a store that carries amternity.
Also, did well at Destination Maternity for blouses - I bought only things on sale, refused to pay more than $20 for any item!
Good luck!
