Ladies who BF and plan on pumping so DH can feed the baby...
when did you introduce the bottle? Gavin will be 3 weeks on Monday.

We had to right before leaving the hospital because she was jaundice - they wouldn't let us go home until we supplemented a little. She didn't have any confusion going to the nipple and bottle. She always was easy going when it came to adjustments, etc. Every baby is different. Good luck!

I was told in my breast feeding class around the 3 to 4 week is the best window to introduce it.

we had a similar experience at the hospital. ella is now 12 days and has sucessfully had the breast, the nipples that come with the hospital similac formula bottles, and the nipples/bottles that come with the medela breast pump. she had no problem switching.

I would introduce it now. If you wait too long sometimes they won't take it. I introduced it to DS when he was around 2 weeks old.

Okay Ladies, I am going to introduce it tomorrow. I am going to pump into the Medala bottle and have Phil give him his first bottle.

We used those nipples too. I didn't plan on giving bottles until he was 6 weeks old, but he had to get it his first week in life as I had delivery complications. Good for you!!!!

My son was introduced to the bottle while we were in the hospital. We got lucky and he didn't have a problem BF and drinking from the bottle.

I gave DD a little in a bottle at about 4 weeks, again at 5 weeks, and then just now she just got a full bottle from DH for the first time. She had no problems taking it any time.

We started when dd was a few weeks old and she had a hard time and wouldn't go back to sleep after night feedings so I decided I would just get up and nurse her since she fell back to sleep (big mistake). At a month old she refused the bottle and didn't take it again until 4 months. My advice is to start ASAP!

same with me after a few weeks maybe 2-3 ds got Jaudice and I started to pump to make suer he was gettineg feed

She was having latch issues, so I introduced at the hospital.
While I still had milk, she was able to go onto the breast without any kind of issue!
