Re: ladies who like to wear their babies
everything else i looked into needed to be worn with either the baby facing you (like the ergo) OR the baby on your back. I couldn't find any other alternatives for outward facing babies, and I know DS would hate not being able to look around at everything.

thanks nicole thats something i noticed also.. abby likes to be able to look out and see whats going on. i wouldnt mind wearing her on my back as an option since im short and shes pretty big her feet are always kicking my knees pretty uncomfortable

Re: ladies who like to wear their babies
I have the ergo and I love it! DS is only a month old so I wear him facing me, but it is supposed to be good until the child is a few years. It super comfortable and you can wear the child on your side or on your back also. If you wear her on your side she should be able to see what's going on. It was pricey but worth it IMO

I have the ergo but I never use it... I am in love with my sling. It's the Kangaroo Korner. Best $67 I ever spent.
I still use it all the time at 17 months. Can hold the baby a variety of different ways and goes up to 35 lbs.

ITA. I wear DD facing me but she turns her head and is able to see everything - doesn't seem to bother her to do that.

I have the backpack, I have no idea who makes it off the top of my head but DS loves it, he's high enough in it so he can still see all around.

Re: ladies who like to wear their babies
I have a slinglings sling and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. You can wear a baby cradled, kangaroo style, on your hip and on your back. I've done all of them with Ava and use the cradle carry for Chase right now. I love that it just folds up and slips in my diaper bag so I always have it.
