Lake George area
My BF and I may be going to Lake George for a few days this summer. Can any suggest what there is to do there? I know there in an amusement park, but were not really big into that.

Re: Lake George area
We went mountain biking one day and that was a lot of fun. You were able to choose a few trails. It wasnt Lake George but 15 minutesa North of it.

Re: Lake George area
My family and I used to go there every summer. We enjoyed white water rafting, mini haha (dinner cruise), Horse back riding. It's so much to do there, no matter what you will have a good time.

Re: Lake George area
The village iteslf has Outlets, shopping, lots of food :)
There is the Lake George Steamboat Company - They have 3 boats, you can do an hour cruise or a 3 hour dinner cruise.
Prospect Mountain is at the southern end of the village - it's a really easy climb.
If you are coming in Late July or August the track in Saratoga Springs is about 1/2 hour south, The Saratoga Battlefields are also about 1/2 hour south
You can also go jet skiing, parasailing, rent a boat.
I live about 45 min south in Saratoga County if you have any questions about the area.
This site lists private camps for rent.
have fun!

Re: Lake George area
oh there is so much shopping, and awesome drives you can take, we go often even in the off season we use a condo about 15 mins away. heres to sites i use a lot
Link 1
Link 2
fav restaurant just a short trip away Friends lake Inn
really nice hotel to walk around The Sagamore, and in the afternoon they have this amazing tea hour all finger foods and great teas! and what a view!
theres 2 haunted houses to walk throuh right in town (DH loves stuff like that)
we also go horse back riding at Circle B Ranch-great place, not expensive and they own tons of land and they can take you to see amazing places
theres a water park (its kinda cheesey) but it was fun right in LG and theres also Great adventure which is great cause theres never really long lines but pretty good rides, and across the st. is a new hotel they built that has an indoor water park (again its kinda cheesy, its pricy too, a lot of smaller rides) but its fun, we did this in the winter
heres a link to the calandar of events (fairs, street shows, etc) Link to calandar
Have a great trip!!

Re: Lake George area
We are planning a trip upstate with some friends who all have kids of different ages. I have been scanning the internet, but it is so hard to choose somewhere you never heard of. If you go to a place you love please share. We are looking for a "reort" "campground" with cabins to rent with a lake, pool, playground, things to do near-by. I always went to Lake George as a kid and LOVED it, but my parents rented a house from a family friend........Thanks for sharing.
