Lasting cough from flu or cold - which cough syrup is best?
Thanks!
I have a regular cold but I think its on its way out but I have a scratchy, tickley throat and a dry cough.
What cough syrup actually works?

I think it depends why you are coughing.
As someone who has only slept 3 hours a night for the past 5 nights - None of them actually work.
I was taking mucinex, since it usually works for me, but it wasnt helping. Went to the dr to get a prescription version, they gave me something, but a side effect of the cough medicine is 'sleeplessness'. So why does it say take at bedtime? SMH.
Then I read online taking mucinex for post nasal drip is bad - because it thins the mucus, makes more drip and therefore makes you cough more. So today I'm going with no cough control at all to see what happens.

I second Delsym. It is a suppressant without any other ingredients. It is really thick, which works great to coat the throat and get rid of the "tickling" cough.
