LaTavola in Sayville - a short review

LOVED LOVED LOVED!

DH and I went last night for our anniversary and it was restaurant week.

the decor is very tasteful. not too modern, felt cozy and a little rustic. LaTavola is "rustic Italian cuisine". and IMO, they achieved just that with the atmosphere and décor.

the bar area is very nice. they have sliding glass door that lead out to the wrap-around covered porch. that will be nice in the warmer months.

the service was 1st class. our waiter was wonderful. but the food - phenomenal!!!! DH and I both had an organic green salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette and sliced romano cheese. for an entree, DH had the roasted pork and I had chicken scarpariello - hot & sweet sausage, red peppers, sweet onions, roasted potatoes. the entrees were incredible!

my dessert was Chocolate Mousse Cake
and DH had cheesecake (all their desserts are baked on premises). both were amazing choices.

we also had a very nice Pinot Grigio with dinner - can't remember the name but it was the best I ever had.

we also glanced at the regular menu. they have very unusual appetizers like gourmet pizzas, cheese platter, Italian meat platters, pate (meat and veg). very interesting. Next time we go, we're trying the spinach and goat cheese pizza for sure!

We can't wait to go back!!
