Late AF: Need Some Advice
Hi Ladies. This was my 1st month of really getting to know my cycle and symptoms. We are not TTC, but I'm preparing for it by gaining all the knowledge I can. Anyway, I have a very reliable 30-31 day cycle. It's been years since I skipped a period. DH and I BD on suspected Day of O, 3DPO, 5DPO and again on 12DPO & 13DPO. I am guestimating my O based on a fertility calculator only. I was due for AF on 10/28 or 10/29...but she never came. I had very sore, swollen breasts from 10/25 and they just stopped hurting around 10/28. I took a HPT and it was BFN with afternoon urine on 10/28 (the day of expected AF). Here's my question: What are some of the reasons that a woman will have PMS symptoms but no AF? I'm worried that I didn't ovulate and if that's true, I would be saddened by it. I'm hoping that you can help decipher this mystery before I go to my M.D. (I know it's only 2 days late...but that's just not like me). Thank you so much for reading my long, round about way of asking a simple question!!!

Re: Late AF: Need Some Advice
I was 11 days late 2 months ago and I'm always 28 days. Sometimes weird things just happen.
Maybe you ovulated a little later this month ?
I would give it a few more days and retest with AM urine.
I know this stuff can drive you crazy! Hang in there

Re: Late AF: Need Some Advice
I am also VERY regular and have been since the first time I got AF, some of the yrs in between then and now I was on the pill, but when I wasn't I did notice I would be a day or 2 late around the change of seasons....weird, I know, but it could have something to do with it.

Re: Late AF: Need Some Advice
Last month I was 9 daus late and was also worried that I didn't O. I had symptoms of AF the week before she was due and then the symptoms went away and the days just kept passing. Finally I got it.

Re: Late AF: Need Some Advice
Even someone with a very reliable cycle length can have a random cycle that is either annovulatory or in which they ovulate later than expected.
If you don't know when you ovulated, you really can't be sure of when AF is due or when you are "late." Although past cycle lengths may be a good indication, there can always be a random cycle that is different.
If you're over a week late, maybe see your doctor and ask them to do a blood pregnancy test (beta).
