Late fall/winter moms: jacket?
It gets pretty cold in CT and I'm always freezing. I'm usually not outside for long periods of time, but I'm not sure what to do about a warm jacket. I could wear a regular jacket, but there's no way I'd be able to button it up.
Are you buying a maternity jacket?

Re: Late fall/winter moms: jacket?
All of my friends have said that they did not need a maternity jacket because they were always hot towards the end. I think I will wait it out and see if I can get away with sweatshirts.

Re: Late fall/winter moms: jacket?
I'm not bothering in buying a maternity jacket..... If i'm dressed up I will probably wear one of my coats open with a scarf.
If i'm not dressed up I have one of those old school big ski jackets that I think my belly will fit in....
I'm also in CT

Re: Late fall/winter moms: jacket?
I'm in Boston and I'm a teacher who sometimes has to supervise the kids on the playground, so I will need to get something.
Part of me is thinking of getting a man's extra large jacket and then giving it to DH when I'm done with it. I've also heard that sometimes Old Navy will carry winter coats/jackets that aren't too expensive.
Not sure yet about what to do. I'm due in January.

Re: Late fall/winter moms: jacket?
I am due in late december and I think I am going to try and get away with wearing a belted sweater coat with a scarf, hat etc. until the end.

Re: Late fall/winter moms: jacket?
No, from what I've been told its not worth it - you are so hot towards the end you won't even want to wear one. I am going to get a big zippered sweatshirt or something.

I am due in December and haven't thought about it yet. I think I am just going to try to make do with what I have already as well.

Re: Late fall/winter moms: jacket?
I am due the end of Jan, and I plan to wear the jackets I have-- open, with good heavy scarves and hats. A friend has a maternity jacket that she will loan me, but I have no clue what it looks like-- she's had it for two pregnancies already and said it's a little beaten up.

Re: Late fall/winter moms: jacket?
I delivered in March and needed a maternity winter coat. I got a nice one at The Gap. With this one I am due in October and don't plan on getting anything heavier than a outer sweater.

Re: Late fall/winter moms: jacket?
I agree, probably will wear my coat open with a scarf or something. In my case, baby bump will be much less after baby comes in Dec. So the really cold mths I think I will be able to get the jacket mostly covering me (at least I hope). It seems like a waste to buy a maternity jacket.
