Leaking formula while feeding
Am I the only one with a child that seems to have a hole somewhere in her chin that she tends to leak formula down her face? I know when she's playing and using the pacifier to play (lots of formula drips and we stop the feeding). But even while she is eating, formula drips down her face. I pack under her chin with paper towels to protect her from getting "cheese neck".
Anyone else?

Maybe the nipple is too fast for her?
Take a close look, maybe there is hole or a tear.

Re: Leaking formula while feeding
DS does it with BM when he drinks from a bottle. And those are number 1 nipples.

I thought about that too, but she seems to be doing it with any nipple we use (only using 2 right now)

Re: Leaking formula while feeding
I have had the same problem with Lucas (although the reason might be different). I pack napkins under his chin at every feeding. I discovered that the little munchkin has a bad habit of spiting it out a little. I watched him drink and sure enough I saw him swish the milk forward (with the nipple in his mouth) and push it out...down his chin it goes. Over time it has become less and less.
I would suggest checking the nipple as well though.

What kinds of bottles do you use? This used to happen to Ava in the beginning, as well. We were using Avent bottles, but the flow on the size one nipple was so fast that she couldn't keep up with it. We moved to the Ventaire's and it stopped happening. HTH!

I'd try a 1 again. My DD didn't switch to 2 until she was 6 months old. She's still using 2 and she's almost 8 months. She leaks all over when we try a 3.

I could have written this word for word.. the only exception being that we switched from Avent to Playtex Nursers (with the drop in liners) and Niko has done great with those..
