leases for cars- what do you think?!?!?!
D h & I are at a point now where we need a new car.
I am a tad obsessed with the Lexus RX330- I need to take it down a notch.
I am kind of into a small SUV.
DH told me to look into leasing-
We park in the street so I am a little nervous aside from that I don't put too many miles on a year.
Those of you who lease how's it working for you?
Any rec's on good leases?
Any help appreciated- thanks!

!
I parked on the street and my car got dinged up a few times. I chose to buy that car off the lease and then buy when that car got old.

Re: leases for cars- what do you think?!?!?!
I had a lease and my car was stolen. It was a whole huge issue with the insurance company and i had to keep paying the lease for a few months (even though I had no car). When it all got straightened out the insurance paid off the lease but then I was obviously left with nothing and had to do the whole thing over again.

Is it alot to buy your car off the lease? Is it really worth it? Mine is over next year and I don't know what I want to do because I don't want to lease again and I like my car but not sure if it is worth it to buy it. Thanks!

I was just going to ask you the same thing- how did that all work out?
Would you lease again?

Hated it. When I returned the car there were sooooooo many charges for little dings here and there - I had purchased a warranty to cover excessive wear and tear but the warranty company went bankrupt.

I have turned in a lease already and had only the return fee which I think was $400. I want to know if it is worth it to actually buy the car after the lease is up. I don't know anyone who has done this before.

Re: leases for cars- what do you think?!?!?!
we just started leasing so i can't really comment.... i can tell you this though, we take so much better care now then we ever did with a car we financed...
depending on who you lease with, some wear and tear charges are waived, example chase (i use to work for them) automatcally waive 1500 worth of wear and tear after you turn it in.
mileage so far, we are sticking to our plan...1000 a month.
we got a fully loaded nissan murano...when we are done, no if and's or buts, we are giving it back. by time then, new cars will be out and more hybrids will be out.

Re: leases for cars- what do you think?!?!?!
i was so against leasing. i wanted to pay off my car and then have no car payments for as long as i wanted to keep the car thereafter.
well, that all went ou the window when my car got totaled last month! so i had to go out and get a new car even before i finshed paying it up! so my payments were higher due to the fact i was financing and it got me nowhere.
i guess the moral is, dont expect financing to be THE answer.
leases make sense in the fact that you have lower payments (sock the extra cash away)and a new car under warranty for the duration of your lease which is nice.
i also got a fabulous deal on my new car which i love and never would have gotten pre-accident knowledge! hope i made sense, FM if you want.
