Do you warm up your car before driving?

Re: Cars in the am
i usually dont warm my car up before i drive. I usually just get in and go because the best way to warm your car up is driving it.

Re: Cars in the am
Nope -- plus EPA law says a car cannot idle for more than 3 minutes. I hate to see my neighbor's car "warming-up" for 10 minutes...
Cars made after 1980 or so do not need to be warmed up anyway.

We ususally auto start our cars in the AM so we can put the heat on sooner

I heard the same thing -- unless it's super freezing (single digits) you don't need to warm up your car more then a minute or so. Beyond that you are wasting gas and creating more pollution.

Re: Cars in the am
Before I had the automatic start I always warmed it up for 5-10 mins...I HATE driving in the freezing cold. Automatic start was the best thing ever invented IMO.

That's exactly how I am. I used to, when I had the car with the auto-start. Now my DH has that car, so I get into a cold car, but it's all for my 3 minute drive to the train.
