Lent Meals

We're big meat eaters over here...and I haven't done the "No meat" for Lent in a very, very long time. I found myself struggling to think of non-meat dishes for this Wednesday and Friday.

Anyone have any favorite recipes they'd like to share?

Re: Lent Meals

Luckily there are only 8 meatless days!

We tend to do a lot of fish. This week we're doing a steamed flounder on Wednesday - it's not a day of abstinence - but it's still a mourning day so we try to do no fat or sugar.

Friday we'll do angel hair with sauteed squash, some fresh mozzarella and a red sauce. Garlic bread and salad round out the meal.

We also like:
Pasta w/ peas
Salmon with asian glaze
Cod cakes w/ tartar sauce
Fish chowder
Cheese ravioli
Pasta primavera
Grilled Cheese and tomato soup
Fish tacos
Frittata or quiche with salad and fruit.

Re: Lent Meals

We usually end up doing a LOT of pasta and fish.
Mostly the ideas the PPs have posted. It's not too many days, so it shouldn't be too hard.
