Let me hear your ideas on how to bring on labor!
What ways have you heard of to bring on labor? I'm due Sunday but want this baby today! So far I've heard:
-eat Chinese food
-eat anything spicy
-move furniture
-do jumping jacks
-have sex
Some ideas are crazy I know but you never know. Bring them on...

bring on the ideas!! im due thursday and going nutty. I keep having contractions. They are regualr for maybe an hour or two (20 minutes apart) and then they go away! It has been like this for almost 2 days!!! DH and I have been going for 2 mile walks everynight for the last 2 weeks and have even been jogging. Im home from work today and ready to give anything a try.

I have nothing left to add, but I would not do castor oil. It gives you the shitts like you have food poisoning and it's the dehydration that can cause the contractions as well as the relaxing of the bowel. I just can't imagine having contractions and diarreha so bad!

I've heard stimulating your nips can help get things moving.
I also remember someone posting a while back about doing pelvis circles while sitting on a work out ball for like 3 hrs helped.

Eating eggplant. I've read about this eggplant parm recipe on this site and others too:

Acupuncture
Based on all the articles I've read and conversations with my OB and Bradley Class instructor, I personally wouldn't try castor oil.
The night my water broke I had eaten eggplant parm (not the above recipe, my own regular recipe), DTD, and had gone on a mile long walk (waddle) at the park earlier in the day.

Just wanted to add that I drank castor oil and it did absolutely nothing, it was gross. It was my last resort, no luck.

OMG the last time somebody told me they did this they were dying in the bathroom I just wanted op to know that this is a real concern!! You, my friend, are very lucky! Was it as aweful as they say?

I was desperate, I was at week 41! Everyone kept telling me that they knew someone it worked for. It made me go to the bathroom only 1 time(sorry tmi) I guess I have a strong stomach! I mixed it with orange juice as thats what I kept reading online to mix it with. Nothing like drinking oily oj! Yes you are right though, it can cause dehydration so it's important to drink lots of water. I wish it had worked for me.

Curb walking. I googled it when I was PG w DD and a youtube video came up to demonstrate it. Pretty easy. I forget how my doula explained it to me, but its supposed to help push the baby down. A combination of what I did to get me
ready for labor was raspberry leaf tea everyday and walking for a half hour everyday (indoor track).

With #3 and #4 I walked up and down the stairs for a few hrs ,and had them the next day

I'm due Monday and DH is trying to get me to do the following this weekend to induce labor.
Run up and down the stairs
Eat spicy Chinese food (kill two birds with one stone )
Bounce and do circles on my birth ball

The day before I went into labor (and I was LATE!) I had an hour foot massage, and got a pedicure/mani (pink for my babygirl).
I cleaned my whole apt up and down.
and I was walking a lot with my husband.

hahah that's funny! we went to the outback when I was late,and the woman said, "Last time a 9 month pregnant woman came in here, she went into labor that night."
Didnt work for me, but happened soon after
