let's have some fun shopping...$200 budget
hi girls...
need your help. dh gave me a task to do:
SHOPPING!!
one of his clients is having a baby next month and want me to help him put together some stuffs. $200 should be alot of money right? so, i was thinking baaack to my shower what were really useful the 1st month or 2. i think she's not allowed to leave the house for 1st month (culture thing).
this is all i came up with:
- side snapped shirts (long sleeves) - diapers (NB and size 1) - pacifiers - tylenol - play n sleep outfits (maybe 2) - shampoo/soap - bath towels - couple of books - hand rattles - bouncer (??)
pls help me add if you think of anything

definitely a bouncer!!
also a thermometer, mylicon, Tylenol, etc.
Those are the kind of thing you need to have in the house especially if she can't leave for a month!!

Swaddle me or the miracle blanket and a white noise machine. Those were my lifesavers.

DId you say it had to be all small stuff? BC I would go for the more $$ stuff...you have 200 to spend why get alot of little things??? I agree with the bouncer, maybe the travel swing, lightweight stroller (combi $59.99), excersaucer.

Re: let's have some fun shopping...$200 budget
I'd say skip the NB diapers, we never used them but pretty much all babies will use 1's for a while. DD also never took to a pacifier so maybe only 1 of those to start.
How about some burp cloths and wash cloths? That's what I used the most in the early weeks and needed multiples of. We also really liked the little gowns with the elastic bottoms. It was so easy to change DD. Maybe receiving blankets, large so it is easier to swaddle. Maybe the "Happiest Baby on the Block" or the "What to Expect - The First Year" book.
Most most important is give a gift receipt. We got so many gifts we didn't need or use and it's now pretty much impossible to return/exchange without a gift receipt.
Maybe put it all in a small laundry basket. We got a grouping of gifts in one and I use it for DD's stuffed animals.

doesnt' all have to be little stuffs..but thought those were the stuffs i needed the most the first few months. alot of people don't think about those until they need it (ie snot sucker). i thought they might be useful. i was thinking a basket of little stuffs and 1 bigger item (ie bouncer).
and i'm not sure if they had a shower or not. i'm assuming they didn't..b/c of cultural thing.

Re: let's have some fun shopping...$200 budget
We would never have made it through the initial phase w/o our swing and it was $$$$ and I don't think we would've bought it ourselves if someone didn't give it to us so maybe that's an idea if you've got a $200 budget.
