Let's Post Our #1 Weight Loss/Maintenance Tip

I searched to see if there was a thread like this already and no luck.

There are so many great tips out there that everyone writes, why not put them all in one thread? Chat Icon

Mine is:
Using the slimfast.com weight chart (or a similar tool) to enter a weekly weigh-in.

I lost 40 pounds about 5 years ago and have kept it off because Im forced to face reality everytime I type in that weight each week.

Me, too!!!

Plus, my weigh in is on Saturdays. Friday nights I am forced to be good, but I let myself have Saturday night to indulge a little.

I wait until Tuesday. I always weigh more on Monday morning from little splurges over the weekend, so I give myself the gift of 24 hours to settle down. Chat Icon

I weigh myself every few days but need to be more consistent. Just checked out the slimsfast site. Thanks for posting it!

As for tips:

I didn't lose the weight overnight nor will I gain it overnight but I do have to have accountability to someone to stay on track.

Also, give your larger sizes away. I'm determined not to go back.

I've only lost 3 lbs but mine is going to meetings and shopping after the meeting. If I have stuff in the house I eat much better.

On TV I saw a girl who put a scale in front of her fridge which I thought was kind of clever

I try to have a HUGE lunch each day... a good portion of my calories, and something really small for dinner (sometimes just a PB&J and 100 cal pack).

I find myself ravenously hungry from wakeup -> 5pm and at night Im not so bad, so I can scrimp on the food then.
