Let's share some of our "Moments"...
you know...those moments when your kids do or say something, or just give you a look, and you realize that all is right in the world.
I'll start...I have 2 from yesterday. I walked into the den, Cassidy was sitting on the floor and Scotty got down there with her and was rolling a big ball to her. She was laughing these huge belly laughs that I never heard from her before every time he'd roll the ball to her. I had to take a step back, look at my 2 beautiful children playing together and see how happy they were. My heart just filled up with joy.
Another was last night. Scotty and I went out for alittle while, came back and it was dark out and as we were walking up to the front door, Scotty stopped in his tracks, looked up at the sky and said "Mommy, look at the stars! It's such a pretty night!" I just loved that he stopped to appreciate the little things.
Share some of your Mommy Moments!!!

Re: Let's share some of our "Moments"...
ok I have only been a mom for 5 weeks - but I have two real moments that made me melt.
When Talia was born of course she was crying - the drs put her on me - naked and juicy and all - and I said to her - "It's ok - don't cry - mommy is here" and just like that she stopped crying - her eyes opened and she looked right at me....she totally recognized my voice.
Yesterday when she woke up she was in a good mood...I looked at her and said "Good Morning Pumpkin" in this really silly high voice - and she gave me the BIGGEST smile...so cute!!
-- on a more selfish note - when I brought her for her two week dr. appt and she gained 2 lbs. I wanted to dance with the dr. I was really miz breastfeeding and it made me feel so good to know it was actually working - its been easy since then.

My pg was a surprise and the timing was not the best time for us since we were only married 2 months. DH had such a hard time dealing with it. But now the two are like peas in a pod. It's so amazing to watch DH and Nate. Nate loves to fall asleep on Daddy's chest. Image Attachment(s):

Re: Let's share some of our "Moments"...
I have to say m y mommy moment is when I come home from work Marissa hears the keys in th door and she comes running to me as soon as I open it and hugs my leg. That just completes my entire day and if I have a bad day at work it takes it all away.

Re: Let's share some of our "Moments"...
Had a moment just this morning. Christopher woke up much earlier than usual and I was absolutely exhausted. After calming down and having a bottle, he was in a very happy and playful mood. I put him on his gymini and he was having a blast. I went to put a load of wash in and noticed that he went from shrieks of delight to being absolutely silent. I peeked in and he was OUT COLD on the mat. He just looked so angelic and peaceful and it struck me funny that he had been wide awake only minutes before. It made all my tiredness and crankiness disappear. Image Attachment(s):

Re: Let's share some of our "Moments"...
I've been having some real horrible moments at work lately, so one night I came home, sat down on the couch and cried. I usually don't like to get emotional around the baby, but I couldn't help it. She walked over to me, gave me a big hug and sighed as she put her head on my shoulder, like "I know Mommy, it's okay..". Of course, that made me cry harder
Great thread, Stacy!

Re: Let's share some of our "Moments"...
There are so many how do you choose???
The other night, around 11:30PM, I went to check on Jesse as he slept. He must have known I was there because his eyes popped open and he gave me the biggest smile. Startled me quite a bit though.
The outfit he had been wearing had some fuzzies on the inside that subsequently ended up in his underarms. As I was cleaning them off, he started laughing uncontrollably. Who knew lint could be so funny.
And right now, as I type this, he is sitting on my lap and has his left hand wrapped around my left hand, intently staring at the screen. Even though he's only six months old (next week) sometimes I swear he can read already...

Re: Let's share some of our "Moments"...
I think just watching her sleep is one of those awesome things that you can never get enough of.
The other day she did something SO funny though. We introduced her to the dogs when we took her home less then 2 weeks ago, but the other day I was downstairs where the dogs are and figured I'd let them sniff her up a bit more. So Sasha, our german shephard was sniffing her all up, and then gave her a HUGE wet kiss on the hand. Emily's eyes opened SO wide like she was in major shock, then she scrunched her face all up as if to say "Man, what was that GROSS WET thing!!!"

Re: Let's share some of our "Moments"...
Every night my fiance plays with the kids. THey call it tickle time. They do it every evening after dinner before baths. Well I usually use this time to clean up or have a moment to clear my head. Well last night I was doing the dishes and my 6 yr old came out from playing with everyone patted my arm and said mumma leave the dishes for now and come have some fun!!! It made my heart melt into a zillion pieces!!! Needless to say I couldn't resist. All the laughing and palying around sounded so nice I had to join. Not to mention the look on his face when he looked up at me and said that. I just had to do it!!! He is such a special little boy and his heart is so big!!!!
Here is a pic of them having fun!!!

Re: Let's share some of our "Moments"...
The other night, after my DH got home from the hockey game, he sat next to me on the couch. I had Jared on my chest ( he was laying down on his stomach) and was trying to put him to sleep. My DH stuck out his lips and made a kissy noise and Jared started cracking up. He kept hiding his face in the blanket and everytime he picked up his face to look at DH, he would laugh. To see the two of them bonding like that made my heart melt!

Re: Let's share some of our "Moments"...
I used to be able to get sidney to fall asleep by playing "I just called to say I love you" by Stevie Wonder. Well Stevie Wonder was on The View yesterday and when he started singing that song Sidney immediately turned toward the TV. So I held her and sang to her and she seemed so peaceful. I had tears rolling down my face. Who knew she'd be such a fan
