I heard that glasses break easily on granite - is that true?
???? Haven't had glass break in my kitchen in awhile and it was never on a countertop.
Yup. I broke a ton of things on it when I first got it. I had to get used to it. but I do love it.

Re: Let's talk granite for real
I do not like the granite in my kitchen. It never looks clean-always streaky(and i use a special hard surface cleaner) As AP said if you put a plate or glass down too hard, it does break. I would not have them again

I'm looking into Silestone.
Me too. It seems to be the most durable and lowest maintenance.

Re: Let's talk granite for real
thank you all for the advice..i would get a darker granite if i was to get it because i'm so afraid of the staining..i can just see grape juice spilling and that would be the end of it..but i never knew about the cambria or the silestone so thank you
