Let's Talk Maclaren Strollers...

I have to get a lightweight stroller for the TJ Man... The stroller for his travel system takes up my WHOLE trunk and its just tooo big and bulky...Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
So I'm leaning towards the Maclaren and wanted other mom's input!
So....

Which one do you have?
Pros/Cons?
Where did you buy?
What's the difference between the Volo, the Quest and the Techno? (Other than about $100)

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks

I have the Triumph, but I'll be no help b/c with DD being only 8 weeks old we haven't used it yet- but it folded well in the store and is very light weight, which is why we picked it.

edited to add:
here's a review I used to make my decision...
b/c I didn't get a travel system- I didn't think it was too much $$$ to spend.

I have the Quest... and I'm still figuring out how to use it. The manual that came with it s*cks. I have a hard time opening and closing it.. there must be an easier way, but I haven't figured it out yet.

Re: Let's Talk Maclaren Strollers...

I have a Quest. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that stroller. I don't think I ever read the manualChat Icon I have the one where it extends out on the bottom to make the seat longer so little legs don't dangel. I loved that feature! Closing it was interesting at first but it's SOOOO easy now and folds up so small and is so light I would recco it to anyone.

I was leaning towards the Quest because of that feature... TJ VERY tall and didnt want his legs to dangle...

I just bought a blue classic XT or something, don't really like it. its juddery, the wheels seem to have a mind of their own, the seat doesn't look all that comfy and its a bit flimsy.

But remember, I am comparing that to my bugaboo...

But it will serve its purpose... I got mine at Costco here...check out yours!

Re: Let's Talk Maclaren Strollers...

Ok, I posted about this exact thing a couple of months ago and did alot of research on all of the Maclarens- do a search..

We ended up with the Quest because I felt that sice Jacob is a big boy he had much more room than the volo..
Closing was hard to figure out but once I did, it is very easy..

This is my opinion on all 3--

Volo- is on the same level as the chicco. I tried both and I felt JAcob looked really small and it only went to 37 lbs.. It does not recline but it is the cheapest at $90

The quest fit all my needs- it is so lightweight. Jacob looked ok in it and I liked the leg feature.. The basket isn't that great but that didn't really bother me.. The reclining was great... It is also either a 45 or 55 lb limit....

The triumph was almost like the quest but didn't have enough reclining positions for me so for the extra money I went with the quest..

I think the new 2007 are going to be coming out so you can probably get a 2006 for a good price.

I suggest you take your DS and go to buybuybaby just to try all the models out. That is what I did.

We did not buy there we ended up getting the quest online at:www.bestbuybaby.com for &160 free shipping...they were great and I think I got it within 2 days of ordering it...
Colorwise- we got charcoal since I have a boy and if I have another baby and it is a girl this was neutral color and it won't get dirty as much..

Did I mention I love the quest stroller???

any other questions I will be happy to help you out...
