Lets talk New Orleans.....
my DH and I were thinking of doing 4 days 3 nights....is that long enough? Too long?
Where do you recommend staying in the French Quarter - we dont want a chain hotel, something within a block or so of Bourbon St.
Any must sees/must do? We are NOT looking to get plastered like a bunch of college co-eds, so a more pub type adult bar, not 21 year olds, recs would be great.

Re: Lets talk New Orleans.....
We went last summer and had a blast! We were actually only there for two nights - one before and one after cruising out of New Orleans. We did a tour that our cruise line set up after we got off the cruise but otherwise we just navigated New Orleans outselves. We are not party all night long people but we did have a lot of fun! We stayed the first night at the Dauphine Orleans for like $80 for the night. It was an adorable boutique hotel - the room was small but very comfy and clean! Nice temperpedic bed, soft towels and robes. We loved it! It's a block off of Bourbon Street so it may be a little noisy at night but we didnt notice at all. The second night (when we came off the cruise) we stayed at the Sheraton for around the same price. It was a completely different vibe. We like the Dauphine much better - it felt so much more authentic.
We walked everywhere and ate like pigs! You need to stop for a muffeletta at Central Grocery, oysters on the half shell and po boys at Acme Oyster House, beignets at Cafe Du Monde, and hurricanes at Pat O'Brien's. New Orleans is so much fun and such a cool vibe! You are going to have a blast!
FM me for any additional info you may have! Have a great time!

Love NOLA! 3 nights is perfect. The Audobon Zoo is nice too. I like staying in the Garden District. There are a lot of great restaurants on Magazine St. So staying in the Garden District makes them more accessible. If you want some recommendations for restaurants let me know.

Re: Lets talk New Orleans.....
We just booked three nights in New Orleans for a wedding/quick getaway and we're staying at The Omni. It looks beautiful but seems like it could get pricey. We got a discount booking through the wedding guest block the bride & groom reserved. The hotel is two blocks from Bourbon but that's where the wedding reception is so it should be convenient.
