lets talk shoes and walking
So, DD is 10 months and is cruising on everything and will walk holding on to a finger on each hand and will walk with the walker in the house.
She will be going to daycare when I go back to work and they need shoes on her. So, i went in to one shoe store and they said wait until she is walking on her own to get shoes. this is in agreement with what i have been told and read that it is best to learn to walk without shoes.
I went into another shoe store and they totally contradicted that, and told me before she walks is when she should get shoes.
So, when did you get DC shoes????

DD got shoes when she started walking.
Before she was walking, she wore the Robeez type shoes.

I think for daycare purposes its probably just more sanitary on her feet than socks.

DD is the same right now... cruising on everything and even standing on her own. I asked this recently and most said to wait until she's walking on her own. DD is pretty much barefoot 100% of the time (but she doesn't go to daycare).

DD is barefoot all the time, especially since it is summer! And she has just started letting go and standing on her own. I think our girls are a day apart if I remember correctly.
I have heard the same thing to wait because it gives the foot time to adjust and not mold to a shoe.

Re: lets talk shoes and walking
I waited until he was walking unassisted (early 11 months). Before that I tried robeez, but couldn't find them big enough for him.
I think Stride Rite makes "pre walkers" that are softer for babies learning to walk.

Re: lets talk shoes and walking
I just bought these Olivia Pediped for my DD. She's 9 months this week and has been cruising for awhile & walking holding hands like your DC. She's not in daycare, but wiggles out of my arms when we are out to get down and GO GO GO so I had to get her something for when we are out. I LOVE these shoes! The bottoms are soft and DD is very comfortable in them (she doesn't try to kick them off at all). Would highly recommend! I bought mine on eBay- they had them in an eBay store and there was free shipping and the best price....
