Let's talk slate tile: showrooms/place to see the tiles

I am looking into slate tiles (12x12) or about. NOT slate looking ceramic tile. Actual slate.

Where can I see the tiles in person?

There are so many variations.

We have slate in our foyer and I'm sure we got it at HD or Lowes.

I Slate! I am desparate to find a place in my new house for it! Try HD/Lowes and other stone stores.

We're doing natural slate in our 2nd bathroom. Got the tile from a warehouse called ProSource Flooring. Not sure they are open to the public. DH is a member through his business. I did however pick up the tile directly from American Olean which was in Brentwood.

They had a small but filled sample room that anyone could just walk into.

Home Depot Expo also has a pretty large tile display and they are going out of business so you may even get a deal!

ETA: Oh how about proceed to Proceda Tile! Not sure of the spelling of the name but I can hear the song from the commercial in my head! And there is a place in Oakdale/Bohemia on Sunrise Hwy westbound service road just east of Oakdale/Bohemia road. I think it's called Alita Tile.

And there's also Cancos Tile. Another song jingle... nobody knows like Cancos!
