Lets talk strollers!
Whats the difference between a full sized stroller compared to a "Travel system"? Do I need to register for a car seat if I register for a travel system stroller? Does these fold up? Are they bulky? I'm lost when it comes to strollers! I need something that folds up and isn't too heavy, but I love the idea that if the baby is sleeping in the car, I wont have to wake them up when I take them out to put him/her in a stroller.
What did you register for, or what do you have. What are the pros & cons of each & what are youe recomendations?
Sorry for all the questions, but I'm going nutso over here since I plan on registering within the next few weeks.
Thanks soooo much!

Re: Lets talk strollers!
The best advice I can give you is to go to the store and try them out.
I registered for and received the Chicco Cortina Travel System which consists of the Chicco KeyFit 30 infant seat and infant seat base and stroller. Yes, the stroller folds, but probably not as compact as a smaller-sized stroller.
These strollers aren't the lightest things, so you have to decide if you want a full-sized stroller (like the Chicco Cortina or Graco Quattro Tour) or a lightweight one, like the Graco Metrolite.
If you go to the BRU website, they list the strollers by category so that might help you out, but really the best way is to just try them out in the store and see what is best for you!
http://www.toysrus.com/category/index.jsp?categoryId=2256189
I think the list: full-size, lightweight, midsize, travel system and jogging strollers.
Good luck with your search!

Re: Lets talk strollers!
I totally agree with the above post.
Last night DH and I went to BBB and spoke to one of their employees and she gave us a total rundown of them all.
We wound up going with the Chicco Cortina Travel System as well. yes its bulky and heavy, but its rated the best and we really wanted to go with this type of system.
I highly recommend doing some research and find out which system will work for you. good luck!!

Re: Lets talk strollers!
Basically the travel system just includes the car seat with it. If you buy a stroller, you'll need to buy the car seat as well. Travel system is just the combo.
Definitely go to the store and try them out. Some are lighter than others. We decided on the Metrolite since the stroller is only 17 lbs and some others one go up to 30 lbs.
I registered for this stroller (metrolite):
Then the matching car seat sold separately:
and for a smaller stroller when the baby gets older, i registered for this Mclaren since it's not as bulky:

Re: Lets talk strollers!
I got a Chicco stroller that is offered as part of a travel system- it folds up so easy. I got a Gracco car seat, and it snaps into it. I just liked the Gracco car seat better.

Re: Lets talk strollers!
I got the chicco cortina system too with the carseat/base combo. Many moms that I've asked love this system. They did suggest getting a snap n go stroller too so when baby is still in the car seat and you jsut wanna run into the mall, you don't need to bring out the huge full sized stroller. Just pop the seat into the snap n go.

Re: Lets talk strollers!
I registered for the Graco Quattro Tour Travel System. It's big, not going to lie.
But, I registered for the snap n go for when the baby is just in the infant carrier (before he can be in the stroller alone):
Part of what makes the stroller so heavy is the infant carrier snapped in. Which it why I registered for the snap n go as well.

Re: Lets talk strollers!
i registered for the Evenflo Aura Elite Travel System - Oh So Big
b/c it had the comfiest infant carrier and snapped so easily into the stroller and car seat base. plus it's cute and unisex.
ETA: we also registered for the Britax Diplomat Convertible Car Seat for DH's car and we will get a second base for my MIL's car if she watches the baby.

Just wanted to let you know that the Chicco carset doesn't snap into the snap and go stroller. You have to strap it down. We did this in the store, it didn't look the safest. Definitely try it out in the store.

You should definitely go to the store and take some for test strolls...We were positive we were getting one stroller, but after we tried out a few, we ended up with a totally diff one

Re: Lets talk strollers!
definitely pick up a copy of the baby bargains book at borders.... they have an entire chapter on strollers and which are junk and which are great, and why....
they generally do not recommend travel systems, becuase the quality is a bit lacking....

I have the chicco and the snap and go and yes, while it does not snap in, it straps. I think for quick trips into stores it's fine.

we registered for the chicco cortina travel system but I didn't want to get the snap and go b/c of the strap with that seat. we also registered for the maclaren quest for when the baby gets a bit bigger.

I registered for the snap and go and got a Chicco Cortina for later. I thought it was pretty light and folded so easily.

Re: Lets talk strollers!
oh, I never mentioned which stroller we picked out....
bumbleride indie in ruby- quality stroller that will last through at least a couple kids... moderate weight, and large wheels that won't get stuck in grass, gravel, and cracked sidewalks.... good reviews in baby bargains... a little $$$, but it will make up for that for surviving through a couple kids Image Attachment(s):

I also got the Chicco Cortina Travel System. I love it! We tried them all out in the store and it was the most comfortable for both me and DH to push around.

I registered for this stroller (metrolite): IMAGE
Then the matching car seat sold separately: IMAGE
This is exactly what we did!! Same pattern too!! I wanted something light, and none of the travel systems (everything sold together) met my needs as far as pattern of type of stroller I wanted.
