Re: Letting the cat out of the bag
Thats totally up to you! We told our parents and close friends and family after our first appointment where we heard the heartbeat. We came out to the world after our 12 week appointment

Re: Letting the cat out of the bag
We told my Mom on the day I got my BFP. I see her almost every day and I typically get really bad morning sickness, so I didn't want her guessing on her own or thinking something was wrong with me! We told the rest of my close family and DH's family on Mother's Day, it just seemed like a nice time to tell everyone. We had seen the HB two weeks earlier, I was about 9.5 weeks at the time. We had our DD wear a BIG SISTER shirt, and everyone got so excited once they read what her shirt said! She was totally confused (she was only 16 months old) but it was a great moment!

Re: Letting the cat out of the bag
My OB said that once you see the heartbeat at 8 weeks, risk of miscarriage drops to less than one percent. But I didn't tell the world until closer to 14 weeks. We told all our family around 8 weeks and slowly told others (many more around 11 1/2 weeks after we had the NT ultrasound). We wanted to do most of the telling in person if we could.

I told my immediate family (parents and brother) as soon as I found out I was pregnant. But I didn't tell anyone else until I passed my first trimester
