Level 2 Questions
Since I don't want to know the sex of the baby will they tell us when not to look at the screen during the sono?
Also, when is the next sono after the level 2?

Re: Level 2 Questions
We chose to find out, but I know they just will either tell you not to look at the screen while they do their scan of that region for measurements, etc...or they just won't point out things to you and it would be hard for you to tell on some babies, meaning they'd scan over the area really fast so you don't see anything. I don't know about everyone else, but it's hard for me to tell on the sono machines what the heck I'm looking at w/o them helping!!
As for sonos, with my practice, after the Level II around 20 weeks, you don't get another sono unless baby is measuring/big small, or you have any complications. It stinks, but no need for it is a good thing then, you know?

Re: Level 2 Questions
I dont think you could understand what your seeing. I couldnt.
I had no idea she was in "That area" ...LOL
And my practice, too...no more sonos after the 20 week level 2 unless there is a medical reason, liek babys measuring small/big, Maternal problem etc.

Re: Level 2 Questions
I had NO clue what we were looking at. Though if she'd been a boy, maybe it would have been clearer?

Re: Level 2 Questions
Just tell them ahead that you don't want to know. It's hard to know what they look at. I am sure they will not point out the area for you.
I have a growth sono at 34 wks but it's not mandatory for most people. Depends on your dr and medical history

Re: Level 2 Questions
I remember the tech asked me if we wanted to know and even though we did she said that she just would have had us turn our heads so we couldn't see.
After this there aren't any sono's - enjoy this one!!!!!
Can't believe you are almost halfway through - its going so fast!!!! (Well for me )

Re: Level 2 Questions
There really is no reason for them to be in that area anyway...
At mine had they gone over that area and we didnt want to know both myself and my DH would of been able to tell...
BUT...
We have other children and have been through lots and lots of sonograms...
Additionally we are having a boy and as far as the sonogram is concerned it is very noticeable on this baby! My DH is so proud!!!

Re: Level 2 Questions
The first question they asked was whether or not we wanted to know so just tell them no.

Re: Level 2 Questions
The tech asked us if we wanted to know and we did, so she told us. Still can't tell what she printed on the sono picture and DS is definately a boy!
As for more sono's, I had a growth sono at 35 weeks, but I was measuring small, but I don't know if most people have another.

Re: Level 2 Questions
We watched the whole time with the Level 2....and still have no idea what the baby is! Not to worry. As far as other sonos after this one - every practive is different. We have had them tha last two weeks (34 and 35 weeks)...mostly to check growth and weight.

Re: Level 2 Questions
I have frequent sonos and I am always asked first if I know or want to know the sex of the baby - I would just make sure you tell them you want to make sure you don't find out and you should be fine.

We watched the whole time too and I had no idea what we were looking at!
I would just make sure that you tell the person before they start that you don't want to know.
