Level II before 20 weeks? What to expect at 16 (17) week appointment?

Our appointment is scheduled for the day I am 20 weeks. I am going to be in the building today where I will be going so I am going to see if its possible to move it up at all. I know a lot of you have gone around 18 weeks.

Has anyone gone earlier than 20 weeks and had any problems seeing what they needed to? That's my only concern about moving it up.

Also, what do they do at the 16 (my 17 week) regular OBGYN appointment? I have one tomorrow and am just wondering what to expect Chat Icon

I got the AFP blood test done at 16 weeks and then the regular stuff...took my BP, urine sample, weight, checked the babies heart beat, measured my belly althought with my second the dr. didn't start that until 20 or 24 weeks.

As far as moving up your level II I would keep it at 20 weeks. I think things are better developed by then.

The technician wouldn't move mine up because she said they usually don't get the proper measurements if it's too far before the 20 week mark!

I'd keep it for 20 weeks.

I know someone who had hers at 16 weeks, they told her Chat Icon . She had another one at 20 weeks (for another reason) and found out Chat Icon . And when she was born she was a Chat Icon !

i think mine was at 20 wks, and they saw everything but all they needed to see with the heart(baby wasnt cooperating) so i had to go back 2-3 wks later. then they saw the heart, thank god, and everything looked great.

ITA w/ the others and keep it for 20 weeks. Gives everything more time to develop.

As far as the 16 week - I got a script for the AFP test and they did the usual pee in a cup, blood pressure, weight and checked for swelling.

Have fun!
