The original pic of him looked like it was in a casino......to me of all the pic I would have of my DH a pic of him in the casino would probably not be the first I gave for the missing persons photo.
i honestly thought the same thing...hence my comment...

I just find it odd he went to the scrap yard before he went missing, like he needed quick cash before he left. Helps my theory that he planned this whole thing.

Yes and the workers there said he came in every once in a while...as if putting together a little nut before running off so he didnt have to access their bank accounts.

While I don't personally know any who do, I think it's pretty common that they turn scraps in from jobs. I know they hand out t-shirts to the guys on the job all of the time.
