LIF Holiday Party LOCATION poll!!

Ok...so I got some prices and some ideas. The dates and times are not definete yet but I need to get an idea of how many adults/children would like to attend. I tried to find places that are located in the middle for Suffolk and Nassau.

The dates I am looking into are the 1st and 2nd weekends in December, preferably a Saturday. I know not every location is going to work for everyone and not every time is going to work for everyone and that some people work the weekends and others dont. We will try to make it so it is convenient for as many people as possible.

These are the locations I called...again I tried to find places that allowed alot of kids and were somewhat in the middle of the island for our far out easters and our queens girls as well.

Pls let me know, via the poll, which location you prefer.


1) Once Upon a Treetop (Plainview)
- only time slots they have open are 6:00 PM on weekends right now
- would give us field trip party rates which ranges from $10-$18 per child depending on party we choose (ie. 1 hour free play, 1/2 hour class, 1/2 hour food)


2) The Little Gym (Huntington) -- this one is a little tricky
- they do not charge for children under 1, however, depending on the # of children a party package may work best for us. It is $395 for the first 15 kids and $12 each additional child. This includes pizza and paper goods. Even though they do not charge for children under 1, to keep the price down, I think it would be best to total all the children (including kids under 1) and divide the price by the number attending (so if we have 15 children under 1 and 15 children over 1 the party price is $395 but we would divide that price by 30 so it would be $13 p.p.
- they do 1 hour play/ 1/2 hour food. once the kids eat, they are not allowed back in the party room.
-they said if we do the last party of the day, we would get a little extra time. These are the dates and times they have available:
12/7 10 am, 4 pm
12/13 3pm, 5 pm
12/14 12pm, 4pm


3) Gymboree (Woodbury) -- same location we used last year
- this location I believe had a max. of 25 kids, whereas the other locations I listed dont have a party max. They are bigger facilities.
- they will honor our price from our party last year which I believe was inbetween around $12 per child (I could be wrong...don't remember exactly, I have to find out from Sue unless another mom remembers )


4) My Gym (Plainview)
- I am still waiting to hear back from them regarding prices and dates/times available. I am thinking it will run the same as all the other places, $12-15 per child.


PLEASE, only respond to the poll if you are serious about attending b/c I am going to use the # of people that respond to determine how many kids we are looking at which can factor into the price.

**Keep in mind, we are also going to do a "Secret Friend" gift exchange at this years Holiday GTG which everyone who attends has to participate in so no children are left out. Last year it was max $10 a gift.
**We also may be adding $$ for pizza if we choose a party place that does not include the pizza in the price.
**We also do "potluck" food where each mom brings snacks, dips, juice, cookies, soda, paper goods, etc. for everyone to share.
**In all, expect to spend approx. $25-30 for the holiday GTG. I just want to make sure everyone is aware of the total cost.

THE HOLIDAY GTG IS OPEN TO KIDS OF ALL AGES....INFANT+. I dont want anyone to feel left out.

I didn't vote because although I would love to say I am 100% in, it all depends on the day and time...we have so much going on the month of December. My family parties all month! However, I wanted to say that My Gym in Plainview is awesome. We went there for a trial class for DS and it was so much fun. We signed him up for January classes. I am not sure of the pricing and the dates they would have available for the party, but I just wanted to add my opinion. Hopefully once a date is set i'll be able to tell you we are coming!

I would be interested in going but can't say 100% because it would depend on which day is picked. But I did just want to say that I'm not sure if Once Upon A Treetop would let us bring in outside food. I know for birthday parties they do not allow any outside food. Just something to consider.

ETA:

I also wanted to add that Kiera belongs to The Little Gym in Merrick and I think as a member the price is a little cheaper than what the Huntington one quoted. If people are willing to go to Merrick I could check with the owner and see what kind of price he would work out for us. Just let me know.

I voted for Once upon a Treetop, but really any of the places are good. Also, like with the previsou posters, it's all going to depend on the day as we have a lot going on in December.

Also, if we find that there is a lot of interest in doing a separate Eastern Suffolk GTG, I would be willing to plan that.

I voted for Treetop, reason being they can hold a lot more people than the others I believe.
Plus they have those huge rooms with tons of chairs that can be used for eating
PLUS (last one I swear ) It's good for older and younger kids too. The older kids can play on the play structure.

I voted for once upon a treetop but i've never been to any of them so I really don't know. I would be in except if it's on Sat Dec 6th b/c we'll be in Disney.

I would possibly be on on the 13th.

But, do you think The Little Gym could handle 15 babies under 1, 15 babies OVER 1 and then possible 30 parents?!? Meaning 60 ppl in there? I know when we did the GTG at Mommy and Me in October, it was kind of crowded with about 35-40 in there!

I didn't vote for a location b/c any is fine with me and we can only go if it's the 14th. We'll be on a cruise from the 6th through the 13th so those dates won't work for us.

As much as I want SO much to vote and SO much to say yes 100%, I can't. My mom is coming in from Illinois the weekend of 12/13. I am not sure if we're going out for dinner that night or not (to celebrate my bday)

I am going to keep bumping this post throughout the weekend. It seems Once Upon a Treetop is most popular but keep in mind, it is at 6:00 pm on a weekend. Just want to make sure everyone is aware of that.

I like the location of OUATT, but the time is definitely a negative. I would imagine a lot of our little ones go to sleep not too long after that!!

I haven't been to any of these places, so I have no preference.

I'd rather NOT have it at 6pm, but I didn't vote in the poll. Geographically they're all fine for me.

I don't have a problem with the time, my DS goes to bed later, and I defiantely would push it back for a special event!

And OUATT is pretty cool for them!

I prefer any of them over Treetop because the time wouldn't work for us. Lily is in bed by 8 and we don't mess with bedtime. I think it's one of the reasons she's so happy and easy!

Wanted to add that though I cannot vote b/c I cannot do the 13th, I would consider voting for the OUATT but 6om is too late for us. Troy's in bed around 7pm and we live in Riverhead.
